Manush Bari finally finished (almost)

Some scissor work on the IKEA catalog and the Manush kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped and ready for their new occupants. But where are they? Oh, they’re at the zoo.

Yes, there are even curtains!

What remains is fixing the whole thing – kitchen/bath unit and staircase – together onto a large cardboard sheet that will give it some stability (right now the box falls over too easily). Once it’s totally done I’ll try to take some better pictures.

  1. Once its all done yuo should send pics and a little story of your sustainable toy making to Mothering, I’m sure they’d love to print it! This is one bari I’d move into in a heartbeat. Dh is never quite interested in my blogging ways, but your bari got a big seal of approval=)

  2. Hi Anja,
Thank you so much for the encouragement! And I like your idea about a story for Mothering (LOVE that magazine!)… maybe I’ll do it! I was also thinking of sending pictures of the staircase to Annie’s Homegrown: they encourage customers not to throw their boxes away without using it for something else, so there!
Is you camera working again? I’ve not seen new entries on your blog… Can’t wait to hear news from you.
I also asked my library to get your movies. What a thrill it will be to see them!
    Happy New York!

  3. My camera is still out of order…I just don’t feel like posting without pics, also we are all in vacation mode still. I leave for India at the end of the month yayyay first time in 3 years and first time for Anika. I am excited, any tips for travelling with a toddler? What all did you take on the flight? Did you buy paints on vacation for Amie? Any advice will be appreciated since I’m going sans DH..so its all up to mama, you can email me at anjalikaATgmailDOTcom if you have the time or inclination to do so. Thanks.

Happy New York to you too!
